Sharing 'Pick up a Book' Song Launch
We are pleased to share with you the photos and short video of the launch.
Pick up a Book, is an intergenerational song that encourages children to, indeed, pick up a book, and celebrates the National Year of Reading.
The song, recorded by 'The Pick Up A Book Collective' was written by Laura and the music was composed by Ruth Gitau, at student at The Rhythm Studio Academy, the West London music charity dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through music.
The Pick Up A Book Collective' comprises of:
- the choir of Wendell Park Primary School
- Ruth Gitau - Student, The Rhythm Studio Academy
- MC Grammar - rapping teacher, best selling author and social media sensation and
- DJ AG - 'the people's DJ'
Pick up a Book celebrates the importance of reading with the message that every child should pick up a book! Laura is keen to help children develop a love of books and a lifelong appreciation of reading for pleasure.
Thank you to The Latymer Foundation, for gifting the Latymer Upper School theater and refreshments for the launch. Big up MC Grammar for hosting.
