I am truly honoured and speechless to be nominated for a Power of a Woman award, particularly alongside so many other great women who I admire and respect.
As a producer, storyteller, educationalist and consultant, I am passionate about what I do and how my work impacts others. I am proud of being a woman of colour and have immense gratitude and affection for the amazing networks that I have been part of and that have supported me over the years.
The awards [@poawawards] were set up in 2019 by Fredi Nwaka [@therealfredinwaka] to honour his late mother, Angela, and celebrate the achievements of women of colour in the UK. I’m blown away by my inclusion on the shortlist and am incredibly honoured that my contribution to children’s learning and literacy is being recognised by such a fantastic organisation.
Ten amazing women will be chosen from the shortlist, and the awards will be decided by 50% public vote and 50% judge’s panel.
