I’m delighted to be part of a forthcoming series hosted by Black Ballad to celebrate the release of Michelle Obama’s new book The Light We Carry.
If you’ve never come across Black Ballad, it’s a fantastic membership organisation that celebrates black womanhood across the UK. In their own words, Black Ballad “exists to help every black woman realise how she can change her world through every click she makes and every conversation she has”.
And if anyone fits perfectly into the ethos of Black Ballad, it’s the former First Lady. In The Light We Carry, Michelle Obama once again brings her inspiring message of compassion, self-care and confidence to women everywhere. To mark the publication of the book in the UK, Black Ballad is hosting four events – three virtual and one in-person.
I’m honoured to get the ball rolling on 15th November with a virtual parenting workshop that will focus on advocating for your child, how to face testing times as a parent and the importance of finding and embracing support systems.
