Author and events

I have been doing a few author visits although the face-to-face visits have stopped on a temporary basis due to Covid-19.

My last visit in November was to Kobi Nazrul Primary School in Tower Hamlets. I have to say, I was overwhelmed with the reception that I received from the school.

Please let me know if you would like to book a visit for 2022. Visits can either be online or, from spring, face-to-face.

I can do:

  • assemblies
  • author readings
  • literacy workshops
  • author Q&A sessions
  • keynote speeches at a variety of events, such as libraries, festivals, after-dinner speeches, etc.

‘We are grateful to Laura for the generosity in sharing her own story; the challenges and the triumphs provided pause for thought and reflection for our children and our staff.

There were many threads to Laura’s story which our children could relate to; so equally, seeing her success opened the flood gates for all of the possibilities.  It encouraged our children to ‘dream big’!

Thank-you Laura for the inspiration you provided our children at Kobi Nazrul!’ – Belinda King, Headteacher Kobi Nazrul Primary School

‘The children were starstruck and were so overwhelmed! They thoroughly enjoyed Laura’s visit.  All our children were really inspired – as were the adults’ Shamima, Year 2 Teacher Kobi Nazrul

‘We can’t believe Laura visited our school – we can’t wait to read more of her books!’ – Year 2 child Kobi Nazrul Primary School

‘Laura was so kind and she answered all of our questions’ – Year 2 child, Kobi Nazrul Primary School

‘Laura’s visit was one that we will all remember.  From her whole school assembly to her story reading in Early Years and KS1, we found the morning enriching and inspiring – thank you Laura!’ – Amanda Thompson, Associate Assistant Headteacher, Kobi Nazrul Primary School
